Early Life and Background
Deshae Frost was born on January 9, 2001, in Seattle, Washington, and grew up there in an African-American family. His birth name is reportedly Smith Frost, and Deshae is the name he built his public career under. His mother is reported to be Monique Camillo. He grew up alongside a sister, Brooklyn, and a brother, Amare, who has appeared in some of his videos. A younger half-sister, Bali, was born in 2021.
Seattle is where his creative instincts first showed. Accounts of his childhood say his mother noticed a flair for storytelling and performance when he was around 13. That was also the age at which he reportedly started experimenting with stand-up comedy. Instead of waiting for a traditional break, he turned to the platforms that were open to teenagers with a phone and an idea.
He first wanted to be a rapper and wrote and recorded music as a teen. As the comedy clips he posted drew bigger reactions than the songs, his focus shifted. That early mix of music, humor, and performance still shapes his content today. Details about his schooling are limited, which is common for creators who found an audience before finishing their teens.
Career Journey and Timeline
- Early teens (around 2014): Frost begins performing stand-up and writing short comedy scripts. His sense of timing develops while he is still a teenager.
- Vine era: He becomes known for short, scripted comedy skits on Vine, the six-second video app. Compact setups with quick punchlines became his signature, and the format trained him to land a joke in seconds.
- Vine shutdown and the move to YouTube: After Vine closed in 2017, he moved his audience to YouTube and Instagram. The skits grew into longer videos covering pranks, challenges, vlogs, and sketches.
- Music releases: He released rap singles alongside his comedy work, keeping his original ambition alive and giving fans another way to engage.
- Acting breakthrough: He landed a role as Darryl on the CBS series S.W.A.T., which brought him recognition beyond social media. The part showed that his comedic instincts translate to scripted television.
- Brand building: He launched the Frost Gang clothing line, extending his online identity into merchandise. Brand sponsorships and ad revenue became a larger part of his income.
- Stand-up and live work: He returned to his roots with touring stand-up and live streaming, performing for audiences directly instead of only through a screen.
- Present day: Now based in Los Angeles, he maintains a presence on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, with a combined following in the millions. YouTube subscriber counts reported in 2025 sit around 3.75 million, though figures vary by source and change constantly.
His path follows a pattern common to his generation: short-form fame, a platform migration, then mainstream acting and entrepreneurship. What stands out is his speed. He reached television before turning 21.
Physical Appearance in Detail
Deshae Frost height is listed at about 5 ft 5 in (165 cm), which puts him slightly below the average for American men, around 5 ft 9 in. His weight is generally listed between 60 and 65 kg (132 to 143 lbs), which fits a compact, athletic build. Descriptions of him often mention a muscular frame, consistent with the energetic physical style of his videos.
He has dark brown hair that he has worn short and styled upward at times, and in other periods with natural curl. His eyes are dark brown to black. A US shoe size of around 6.5 is reported, which is proportionate to his frame, though that detail comes from fan sites rather than official statements.
His style leans heavily into streetwear: oversized graphic tees, hoodies, layered chains, clean sneakers, and designs from his own Frost Gang label. The look is a deliberate choice. Bold, high-contrast outfits help him stand out on camera, and a confident, animated presence keeps the focus on his personality rather than on measurements. In his videos he moves constantly, gestures widely, and uses facial expression heavily, which is why viewers often remember him as bigger than he is.
Height Comparison
Because Frost’s profession is comedy and online entertainment, the fairest comparison is with other comedians and performers. Height varies widely in this field. Some of the best-known names are well under average height, and others are very tall. At 5 ft 5 in, Frost sits close to the lower-middle of the pack, and notably taller than Kevin Hart, the most famous short comedian in the business.
Here is how he stacks up against some recognizable names. All figures are commonly cited estimates and should be treated as approximate.
| Name | Profession | Height |
|---|---|---|
| Deshae Frost | Comedian / YouTuber / Actor | 5 ft 5 in (165 cm) |
| Kevin Hart | Comedian / Actor | 5 ft 2 in (157 cm) |
| Trevor Noah | Comedian / TV Host | 5 ft 8 in (173 cm) |
| Pete Davidson | Comedian / Actor | 6 ft 3 in (191 cm) |
| Bo Burnham | Comedian / Filmmaker | 6 ft 5 in (196 cm) |
The spread shows that height has little to do with comedic success. The top of the list is separated from the bottom by over a foot, and every person on it has built a major career.
How Height Shaped His Career and Public Image
In comedy, physical presence is part of the toolkit, and Frost has used a compact frame to his advantage. Smaller performers often rely on energy, speed, and expressiveness to command a stage or a screen. His sketches reflect that. Fast cuts, exaggerated reactions, and animated body language let him fill the frame regardless of how tall he stands.
Height also plays a role in how audiences read a character. Slightly smaller comedic leads often come across as underdogs, which draws sympathy and makes punchlines land harder when they win or lose. Frost’s on-screen personas frequently play with exactly that tension: confident, loud, and quick, but relatable.
In acting, height can influence casting more than it does in online content. Roles like his S.W.A.T. character depend on presence and delivery more than stature, and his comedic timing carried the part. For creators building a business, a shorter stature has little impact on income streams like sponsorships, merchandise, or streaming. Fans respond to personality and consistency.
His height also gives his brand a distinct identity. Fans often joke about it in a friendly way, and it has become part of the shared humor around his videos instead of a weakness.
What He Has Said About His Height
There is no widely documented, verifiable interview in which Frost addresses his height directly with a memorable quote, and it would be misleading to invent one. Most of what circulates online comes from fan wikis and aggregator sites that repeat each other, not from a statement by Frost himself.
What can be said is that he has never publicly corrected or disputed the 5 ft 4 in to 5 ft 5 in range, and he has never built his image around hiding his stature. In his videos and social posts he shows up in a way that suggests comfort with his appearance. When fans tease him about it, the tone tends to be playful, and he plays along rather than pushing back.
If he ever gives a specific measurement or answers the question in an interview or live stream, that would become the definitive answer. Until then, 5 ft 5 in remains the best working estimate.
Personal Life Brief
Frost keeps most details of his private life low-key, though he is open about his family. His brother Amare and his sister Brooklyn have appeared in his content or been mentioned over the years, and the arrival of his half-sister Bali in 2021 added to a close family circle.
His dating life has attracted fan attention. He has been linked with a few social media personalities over time, and reports on who he is currently seeing vary by outlet and often conflict. Because these claims are rarely confirmed by him directly, they are best treated as unverified.
He lives in Los Angeles, where the entertainment industry is close at hand. His days revolve around filming, writing, acting, and running his brand, and he continues to post regularly. At 25, he is still early in a career that has already spanned several platforms.
